Outside Villa Santo Stefano

The Winery

In the rolling hills near Lucca lies the Villa Santo Stefano winery, and it is a dreamlike moment when the sun rises to reveal wine, olive trees, an ancient cultural landscape and the magical Lucca Valley

We are united by our love for the magic of Tuscany - and our passion for producing the best of this ancient cultural landscape ourselves: wine and virgin olive oil. It all started in 2001. At that time, Wolfgang Reitzle acquired the “Villa Bertolli” near Lucca, with a few olive groves and a hectare of wine.

The property, which has been authentically restored down to the last detail, meets all the requirements for producing wine and olive oil of the highest quality. The wines in particular reach a new dimension for the Lucca region!

OUR ORGANIC OLIVE OIL

It has this fine, valuable shimmer of liquid green gold, it has a mild spice with a slight spiciness in the finish, an extremely low fatty acid, it is one of the select few who are allowed to bear the coveted DOP seal "Lucca" - and has already won several prestigious awards: The “Olio di Lucca” from “Villa Santo Stefano”.

Our Philosophy

What philosophy guides the team at “Societa Agricola Villa Santo Stefano”? It is the deep desire to fully exploit what this ancient cultural landscape with its special soils and its special climate offers in terms of potential - for a top-class Olive oil, for top wines. A compliment and also a declaration of love to this unique region: The Lucchesia.
